A Mother in Mannville by MARJORIE KINNAN RAWLINGS
The writer had chosen lady writer for the character of a mother (imagination) for a orphan boy. Reality is that the boy was used to helpless, rootless and depressed for the absence of his real mother.
When the little orphan boy had come to the lady writer then discovered her mother from her. As per the boy thought that his mother would be as looked as the lady writer. The writer had brought Jerry from the orphanage for the reason of her chopping woods. She was astonished to see the little boy like Jerry's integrities and simplicities.
Jerry assured that age doesn't matter of chopping wood. The spiritual relationships between Jerry and Tom was also mentionable. There were much spiritual similarities between the two different genomes.

Author's main content:
The orphanage is high in the Carolina mountains. Sometimes in winter the snowdrifts are so deep that the institution is cut off from the village below, from all the world. Fog hides the mountain peaks, the snow swirls down the valleys, and a wind blows so bitterly that the orphanage boys who take the milk twice daily to the baby cottage reach the door with fingers stiff in an agony of numbness.
